Cookie Policy

Last updated: November 5, 2026

The Short Version

  • The site uses a few cookies and similar browser storage it needs to work.
  • Advertising cookies from Google and Meta are off until you pick “Accept all”.
  • Everything on the site, including booking, chat and the shop, works either way.
  • You can change your choice at any time.

What Cookies Are

Cookies are small pieces of text a website saves in your browser. Local storage and session storage do the same job in a different place (session storage is cleared when you close the tab). This page lists all of them on waynesvillecomputerservices.com, who sets each one, what it’s for and how long it lasts. How we handle personal information in general is in our Privacy Policy.

Your Choice

  • On your first visit a small banner asks once. “Only necessary” and “Accept all” are equally easy, nothing is pre-selected, and advertising stays off until you pick Accept all.
  • Change it any time with Cookie Settings at the bottom of every page, or the button above.
  • Picking Only necessary stops the advertising tags right away and deletes the advertising cookies stored on this site’s own address (_fbp, _fbc and the _gcl ones). Google’s and Meta’s own cookies on their sites (IDE, fr) can only be removed in your browser’s settings.
  • If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as Only necessary and don’t show the banner, even if you said yes before, unless you pick Accept all yourself in Cookie Settings.
  • Your choice is saved in your browser for 12 months. Clearing your browsing data clears it too.

The site needs these to work or to remember something you chose. None of them are used for advertising, and most stay in your browser and are never sent anywhere.

Advertising

Only if you pick Accept all

Google Ads and the Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) help us see which ads bring people here and show our ads to people who visited. Google and Meta use what they collect here and elsewhere on the internet to measure, target and deliver ads, under their own policies. They stay off until you say yes, and stop again whenever you pick Only necessary.

Local storage · Google Ads · Lasts: Until cleared

Google's advertising cookies: showing and measuring ads, including ads based on your visits to this site. test_cookie only checks that cookies work.

    Cookie (on doubleclick.net) · Google · Lasts: IDE about 13 months, test_cookie 15 minutes

  • _fbp, _fbc

Identifies this browser to Meta to measure and show ads. _fbc only after you click a Facebook or Instagram ad.

Cookie · Meta Pixel (on this site) · Lasts: 90 days

  • fr

Meta's advertising cookie for showing and measuring ads.

    Cookie (on facebook.com) · Meta · Lasts: 90 days

  • lastExternalReferrer, lastExternalReferrerTime

The website that sent you here, for ad measurement.

Local storage · Meta Pixel · Lasts: Until cleared

  • wcs-shop-pending

The shop item you're checking out, so the purchase can be reported to Google and Meta once.

Session storage · This site · Lasts: Until you close the tab

Not Cookies, but Good to Know

  • Cloudflare hosts and protects this site, so every visit passes through Cloudflare (your internet address and browser details included). Cloudflare Web Analytics counts our page visits without cookies or browser storage and doesn’t follow you to other sites.
  • The service area map loads its map pictures from OpenFreeMap.
  • With advertising allowed, Meta’s Pixel also notes which buttons you tap and, if you type into a form on this site (such as the newsletter signup), may send Meta a scrambled (hashed) copy of the email, name or phone number to match your visit to a Meta account. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

Other Websites

Square’s checkout, Amazon, eBay, Gumroad, Google, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp set their own cookies on their own sites when you follow a link there, under their own policies. The Amazon links on our Recommended Parts and Build Your PC pages carry our Amazon Associates tag (As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases). If you follow one, Amazon and other third parties may serve content and ads, collect information directly from you, and place or recognize cookies in your browser.
